A perfect drink to have while cozying up to the fire.
- 1 bottle (750 ml) fruity red wine, like merlot
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 whole cloves
- 2 slices fresh, peeled ginger
- 1 pear, thinly sliced with seeds removed
Combine all ingredients in a large stainless steel, ceramic, or glass saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat.
Remove whole spices, keeping the pear slices, and serve.
